These
are exciting times for the Truro Curling Club. The club is
home to the 2009 Canadian Senior Ladies Champions as well as
home to the provincial and Maritime Stick Curling Champions; has
a thriving Senior Men's Program; and is embarking on a
revitalization of the club's infrastructure.
With the
help of various fundraising initiatives and support from various
agencies, the club will have a new ice plant, a low-e ceiling,
energy efficient lights and a new roof in the next couple of
years. Along with this we are planning on upgrading our
bathroom facilities and improving the accessibility of the
facility by making the first floor wheel chair accessible.
With these improvements we hope to make the facility a more
enjoyable place to curl and have fun. Our ultimate goal is
to improve the recreational experience for more people in the
Truro area and encourage more competitive success.
Along with revitalizing the
infrastructure, the Board of Directors is excited that these
initiatives will revitalize the spirit within the club. I
look forward to seeing everybody again in the fall and having a
great year. I would encourage former members to drop into
the club and reintroduce yourself to the new Truro Curling club.
It's time to start curling again !
