The Senior Men’s Curling Association is made up of retired seniors who curl three times a week on a recreational basis with a strong emphasis placed on the social aspect of the game.

 

Two things that make the daytime curling an enjoyable experience is that no one is assigned to any one team,- you play with a different group each day so you are not committed to playing on any particular day.   As well, the format of switch-around play is used whereby you play two ends at each position.

 

Games take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1:00 pm and Fridays at 9:00 am.

 

The seniors also get involved in seven Home and Home series with other clubs including the Truro day ladies group.

 

Over and above regular curling are other events like a Christmas bonspiel, a three day senior’s club championship series and the hosting of a full day invitational bonspiel with clubs from other towns.

 

Open Fridays usually result in a luncheon after curling known as Pizza Fridays.

 

Overall, great fun takes place both on and off the ice and is greatly enjoyed by all who participate.
